Leden Group

Making life easier for our customers

Leden Group’s mission is to make life easier for its customers. This mission is the basis of our strategy. By putting our customer-oriented mission into practice, we achieve success for both our customers and ourselves.

Making life easier means doing more for the customer. We offer end-to-end solutions as well as component manufacturing. However, sometimes it is the manufacturing of just one component that makes everything easier for the customer.

Our comprehensive solution means we support the customer as early as in the development phase. We carry out manufacturing, testing and delivery of the product to the customer. We also manage product information, which is increasingly important both productivity and sustainability.

Our customers want comprehensive solutions, and this is part of an international trend. Customers seek to be competitive by using contract manufacturers for larger operations. This improves competitiveness in many ways.

1

Higher efficiency

When a customer gets the solution from a single source, it saves time.
2

Deeper customer understanding of the contract manufacturer

When the contract manufacturer produces end-to-end solutions, it comes closer to the customer’s life and gains a better understanding of the customer’s needs.
3

Smarter solutions

When the contract manufacturer is aware of a customer’s needs, it can proactively offer increasingly smart services. This can mean, for example, more cost-effective manufacturing methods or faster logistical choices.
Leden Group

Our organization is focused on implementing our new strategy. Leden Group came into being spring 2021 as a result of combining four companies. The goal was to strengthen our ability to provide customers with a wide range of services from a single source.

A successful comprehensive service requires structures that work smoothly, competent staff and a customer-oriented culture. We have organized our operation so that it serves customers as well as possible.

A strong presence in Northern Europe

Leden Group is located in Northern Europe, and has customers across Europe. Our competitiveness is enhanced by the fact that Leden Group came into being as a Finnish-Estonian merger. The company has therefore had a strong customer base in Europe from the very beginning.

We have significant production facilities on two sides of the Gulf of Finland. This means we can organize our production according to the customer’s needs in the best way.

A long tradition of expertise

Leden Group was established in 2021, but its roots go back almost 60 years, to 1963. Esa Ojala set up a filter workshop in his home barn at home. Even at the early stage, the company, Ojala-Yhtymä, began to spread its know-how by subcontracting in various ways around the parish.

In the early 1970s, the company acquired its first premises in Sievi. Finnish industry was in a state of transition and needed diverse services. There was also a need for employment in small rural municipalities, which meant that made Ojala`s growth was positive for the entire region.

The year 1990, when Favor AS was founded, was a time of  transition in Estonia. The company was one of the first private limited companies in the country – previously private companies were illegal in Estonia. Favor AS started with roof profiles, which are still part of the range. A decade later, the company began to develop its contract manufacturing.

In 1997, another contract manufacturer, Celermec, was established next to Ojala Group in Sievi. It focused on sheet metal mechanics, machining, painting and assemblies.

A third contract manufacturer was formed in Nivala, near to Sievi, when LaserComp, started operations. It specialized in laser and plasma cutting, edging and welding assemblies.

Now, the three contract manufacturers operating in Northern Ostrobothnia share a local tradition of industrial know-how and customer-focused thinking that became established in the early 1960s. Favor Estonia has followed a similar growth path. The technology has advanced and the operating environment has changed many times down the years, but our desire to provide the best for the customer has remained the same.

In 2015, LaserComp acquired Celermec. At that point, the regional investor Arvo Sijoitusosuuskunta became an owner, playing a significant role as a faciliator when Favor, LaserComp, Celermec and Ojala Group merged to form Leden Group in 2021. A new, more international journey has begun.

Changes in world trade support our growth

Production repatriated in the West. Consulting company AT Kearny estimates that the pandemic and ongoing trade wars will accelerate the repatriation of production from Asia. This trend is also supported by the Chinese Ministry of Labour’s estimation that the manufacturing industry will face challenges finding workforce.

Leden Group enables companies to start production even on a tight schedule.

Stricter sustainability requirements. Sustainability has become one of the top priorities of customers, financiers, and authorities. It is increasingly important that the manufacturing industry monitors the sustainability of entire supply chains.

Contract manufacturer Leden Group observes Nordic labour and environmental standards and is a partner whose sustainability and responsibility principles customers can trust. We also guarantee that our production chain is fully traceable.

Increasing importance of risk management. Companies are more than ever facing challenges caused by cyber threats, violations of intellectual property rights and supply chain vulnerabilities. Risk management is easier if a company’s partner network is not fragmented around the world.

Leden Group offers its customers comprehensive one-stop services, making supply network management easier. The supply chain is closely managed from the procurement of raw materials to final delivery.

Customers are expecting more comprehensive solutions. Customers expect contract manufacturers to provide comprehensive solutions instead of individual components. One-stop services ensure higher cost-efficiency, speed, and quality.

Leden Group manages all production stages from product drawing review to final delivery.
