Leden Group’s corporate responsibility principles are reflected in the company’s values. Our values include:

  • High environmental, social and governance standards.

Together, these form an acronym describing our activities: CARE.

General

Our responsibility work is guided by our code of ethics and our responsibility strategy, which focus on a) reducing our carbon footprint, b) material efficiency, and c) employee competence and well-being.

Leden Group is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Through our management’s commitment to these goals, good governance and active development of our sustainability, we can make the greatest impact on the well-being of our stakeholders and the environment.

We monitor specific indicators to develop the focal points of our work, taking into account ESG principles.

We systematically communicate sustainability and responsibility matters to our stakeholders to promote responsible behavior.

Environmental responsibility

General

At Leden Group, we are committed to operating energy efficiently and reducing the harmful environmental and emission impacts of our operations by continuously improving our processes. We are making the use of resources more efficient and increasing the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies in line with UN principles.

We are improving our operations to reduce the amount of waste generated. Recycling is taken into account in everything we do. 100% of the scrap metal generated through our operations is recycled. The aim of our operations is to prevent the generation of landfill waste. Leden Group is committed to the transition to renewable electricity.

We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations by implementing measures to ensure energy efficiency in line with our environmental program. Energy efficiency and environmental impact are part of the selection criteria for all our procurements. We require our suppliers to commit to the Leden Group’s code of ethics and responsibility program.

Leden Group operates in compliance with current environmental laws, regulations and legislation, and we require our suppliers to do the same:

  • REACH
  • RoHS
  • EHS regulations
  • Environmental permits

All our European sites are ISO 14001 certified.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our personnel.  We invest in maintaining work capacity by offering our personnel and stakeholders the opportunity to develop all our activities to achieve the target of zero injuries.

We regularly monitor the well-being of our personnel and it is the job of our managers to pay attention to the well-being and happiness of their personnel. We monitor gender equality in line with the equality plan.

Leden Group is committed to sustainability and our aim is to meet the expectations of our stakeholders and customers. Sustainable development requires ensuring well-being at work, alongside efficiency, profitability and competitiveness in all operations. Strong economic performance is a prerequisite for developing environmental and social responsibility.

Our responsibility programme is implemented in accordance with our quality, environmental and occupational safety policies and ethical principles. At the same time, operations are continuously developed in line with Leden Group’s values and good governance.

We also expect our suppliers to follow sustainable business practices, for example, in terms of labour and human rights and the environment, taking into account Leden Group’s corporate responsibility programme and ethical principles. Suppliers must comply with the laws, regulations and rules applicable in their area of operation.

Quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, are recommended to our suppliers and partners.

The company’s management is committed to the implementation of the responsibility strategy and is responsible for setting annual targets and monitoring measures across all activities, from day-to-day management to board activities. Our responsibility strategy covers three different areas to help us reduce our carbon footprint through efficient use of materials and high staff well-being and competence.

We also monitor the implementation of our responsibility programme and compliance with our code of ethics by encouraging our employees and partners to report possible violations in our environment.

Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

Leden Group has identified five UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to which we are committed to making the greatest impact on the well-being of our stakeholders and the environment. Here is a summary of the objectives, our own work towards these objectives, and a brief description of how we will monitor our progress.

Leden commits to

  • Objective 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.
  • What do we do? In accordance with the UN goals, we will improve resource efficiency and increase the uptake of clean and environmentally friendly technologies and production processes in line with each country’s own capacities.
  • We also expect our suppliers to be committed to operating in an environmentally sustainable way. We use materials and resources efficiently and strive to minimize our environmental impact by continuously developing and improving our processes.
  • We continuously monitor our resource efficiency and carbon footprint.

Leden commits to

  • Objective 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
  • What do we do? We are constantly striving to reduce our carbon footprint, both in production and in our other operations. In production, we aim for the most efficient use of materials. We also recycle a large part of the materials used. Optimizing transport also contributes to reducing energy use. We only use renewable electricity.
  • We regularly monitor material use and recycling.

  • Objective 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
  • What do we do? Leden Group values diversity and fair treatment, as well as equal opportunities for employees to access work, receive compensation, develop and advance.
  • We have zero tolerance for discrimination in recruitment, hiring and employee development and advancement regardless of age, gender, ethnic or national origin, language, marital or parental status, political opinions, trade union membership, religion or belief, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Leden Group has a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment of any kind.
  • We monitor this regularly through our equality plan.

  • Objective 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.
  • What do we do? We are a major local employer. We offer long-term employment and give employees a wide range of opportunities to develop their skills.
  • Leden Group is committed to operating in accordance with strict health and safety regulations and standards. The well-being and safety of our employees are important to us. Our goal is to have zero accidents. All our factories are already or will soon be ISO 45001 certified.
  • We continuously strive to prevent accidents and injuries by identifying health and safety risks and taking corrective action. We are responsible for the health and safety of the workplace.
  • We make sure that our employees are trained to work safely, and we never do anything unsafe.
  • We take into account the different life stages of our personnel in our work arrangements.
  • We monitor employee well-being through regular employee satisfaction surveys. Our managers have a responsibility to pay attention to their employees’ well-being and happiness.

Leden commits to

  • Objective 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • What do we do? We promote sustainable production practices by requiring our suppliers to adhere to ethical principles similar to our own. Leden Group suppliers must comply with these ethical principles, including laws, regulations, rules and Leden Group’s policies, in the locations and countries in which they operate.
  • We expect our suppliers to follow sustainable practices in areas such as labour and human rights and the environment.
  • We monitor accountability, including by requiring suppliers to have a management system in place to ensure that they comply with applicable laws, regulations and Leden Group policies, and these ethical principles.
  • Quality management, environmental management, and operational management systems such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 are recommended.
  • We also monitor compliance with our ethical principles by encouraging our employees and partners to report any violations in our environment.
  • Similarly, our suppliers must provide information on banned and restricted substances (REACH, RoHS, etc.) with their products.
