The majority of the technology in the new factory is brand new. The relocation of existing technology will be carried out in phases throughout the autumn. Production transfers between factories will be handled carefully, with support from other Leden factories, including the factory in Estonia. However, disruptions may occur due to the scale of the project.
The construction of Leden’s new factory in the city of Oulainen will be completed and handed over on schedule by the end of August. The installation of new technology has already been partially carried out during the final stages of construction. The majority of the technology in the new factory is new, and installations have been ongoing throughout the summer.
The relocation, which will finalize the new factory, will begin between August and September. This relocation will transfer the remaining necessary technology from the current Teollisuustie factory in Sievi to the city of Oulainen. The move will be conducted in phases over the autumn. Production transfers between factories will be handled carefully, and other Leden factories, including the factory in Estonia, will support the autumn relocation phase. However, disruptions may occur due to the scale of the project.
By the beginning of 2025, the relocation will be completed, and Oulainen will host Northern Europe’s most modern center for metal contract manufacturing and sheet metal production. The total value of the investment is approximately 35 million euros. The benefits of this major project for customers include increased factory capacity, improved efficiency and quality through modern technology, and enhanced services for example in storaging.
